What a crafty one!

Today I have been working on little craft products that I just love! I think I found one of my new home decor crafts. What is it, you may ask? Here's a taste...

Do you see the pattern? Pages and pages of harmless fairy tales went to meet there maker at the hands of me, the maker.. of crafts.  I just love how simple but... sophisticated..  (?) it is! I love it! I am not done I just didn't have a patience to make a fuller bouquet because I wanted to see the finished product. Luckily the book I have begone to dismember is a a rather big book so I have plenty of ammo. Besides the flowers, my favorite piece was the pinwheel. I didn't have all the equipment to make it a working pinwheel but it is on my "Hobby Lobby" list.
I also had the chance to rearrange my media/picture wall. I did this yesterday but I had to "fix" one of the frames. It was too boring. I had to jazz it up to match the rest of the wall.
I painted the far top, right picture the same color as my chair, the one that bella is on in the picture. I painted just the outside so it gives it a little depth.

We got a new (to us) shelf with doors (I totally blanked on what its called) that has been floating around Darren's family, and it landed here... after we asked for it. :) I love it. Its a great piece of furniture. This is the finished  look of the living room.
Only this I might change eventually is I might put a bigger picture in the middle, to replace the shiny silver one. I think it would look fuller if I did that, but other than that I love my new and improved wall!
Well I must be getting back to the life of mommy...

Until we craft again..

To follow a dream...

So I am going to take advise from someone very close to me and I am going to start doing some event planning. I have thought about this before, turned the idea around in my head a few times, and after the response I got from my son's birthday party, I'm doing it! I'd be planning the event based on the client's desired theme, colors, or whatever specifics you would want. As little detail or as much as they offer, I would go off that to create the perfect, fun event for your occasion.
As I stated I just had my son's 2nd birthday party and it was the most fun and creative thing I have ever done! Here are some photos of the occasion and what I made for it.

Bella in the tent I made
 Cake Balls
 mustache on a stick
Eyes, noses and mouths for the pumpkins
 Doing the pumpkins
 Tree wrap/ steamer/ picture holder
The Event, not the best picture..

 Candy Jars

 Banner from Kenley's Party

Finished pumpkins, Leftover extras made by my mother and me
So this is some of the stuff I did for his party. I'd say this birthday was fun for all the children there. From my (almost) 1 year old daughter, to some of the 6 year, old kids there. The tent and pumpkins were a big hit, as well as the mustaches, which were used as props for the photographer, Alyssa Peppers, to take pictures of the kids there. Here's one of them:
Lol! Love these kids!
Well, I have a lot more ideas for a lot of different events, so if you want your kids, spouse, family member or friend to have a good time at your special occasion/party, and you don't have the time or patience to make it as perfect as you want it to be, Get with me! I will handle it for you!

to be jealous or not to be jealous... that is the question...

Right now my little man is cuddled up with my big man... In his toddler bed. Yes, you read right, IN his bed. Kenley wants his daddy's head on the pillow, "sleeping" next to his. I tried to relieve Darren of this duty since it is after 1 am and he has to work in the morning, and my son wouldn't have it. He wanted daddy. Not mommy. No no mommy got pushed out of the way so that daddy could "sleep" with him, right next to him, on his pullow. How rude little boy. I gave BIRTH to you and you choose daddy? I could be in there getting a crick in MY neck, dozing off with a little ones breath right on MY face and be as tired as can be but not being able to get an sleep my nice, comfy, crisp bed?
... What was I complaining about again...? Thank God for a good daddy that will lay with his little boy so he can sleep. Love my life...
Goodnight all... ;)

"Stay away from them mean boys!"

From as far back as I can remember, until I got married, my Papa (PawPaw) told me to "Stay away from them mean boys!" I never really knew if he meant boys in general were mean, or just stay away from the mean ones, non the less I tried to heed his advise. Once I got married I missed hearing him tell me that every time I would go visit or talk to him on the phone... It was something I could always count on... Just like as a child when we would be crowded around that old TV set, (you know the ones that looked like furniture, with the wood casing around it,) and we would watch the news or the food channel and he would holler at me and my sisters, "Pull your dresses down!" Teaching us to be modest at an early age, or maybe he just didn't want us showing off our Beauty and the Beast, or Babs Bunny undergarments... either way we knew to jerk our skirts down otherwise he would start his spill about girls needing to keep they're dresses down and how "Just the other day" he saw something he "couldn't believe his eyes". I would love to hear that "spill" just one more time.
I loved talking to him, just not about politics, that is something he could go on and on about and argue tooth and nail about. But when we would talk about the kids or Darren, he was genuinely interested. A 11 year old cousin told us all at Papa's bedside, the night before his passing, that one thing he remembered about Papa is that he was always interested in what you had to say. He preceded to tell a story when he took a video of fourth of July he was eager to watch it and talked to him about it. This was so sweet to everyone. That a little child remembered his great-grandfather to be thoughful and a good listener. Out of the mouths of babes.
Although his passing is so sad to everyone who knew him, I try and remember all the fun time we had with him. He was the best and really ONLY grandfather I had, since the other died when I was somewhere around 6 months old, I believe. I miss him dearly but I know he is in a better place. Can't wait to see him again someday!

Love you Papa!

On the first day...

So it's day one. Day one of what? Of a new diet, of course! Which diet? The 17 day diet. We'll see how this goes.

Since I was formally a skinny girl, its hard for me to get on the diet bandwagon. I was the same size my whole life, (with the exception of when I got my tonsils out) until about 6 months after I got married, when queso and corn torillas became my best friends and my thyroid went on strike. Then at 11 months post nuptials, I got preggers and had the baby. And about 4 months later got the big "P" again and had the baby, of course. Since then its been ups and downs, mostly ups... (the number on the scale keeps going up, up and away!) Ha! That's ok though because with the help of a little friend I call, Levothyroxin, a little exercise, and with the honest following of this here diet, I will be back down to... smaller than this... sometime soon... ish.

I would post my weight and measurements, but that would be stupid. I don't need that kind of publicity. I will however update my blog daily... or however often with new stats, ie: I've lost 2 lbs! Yay! or I am a heifer, I ate an Oreo.  But I figure it is a good way to focus on what I am trying to achieve and have something to fall back on when I am down about myself and need to think about where I have come from. Even if NO ONE ever reads this blog, I will still have it for myself.

And who knows, maybe someone will read this and find it amusing and uplifting.
